2010 DRIFIT T-SHIRT!
Little-Big Adventure Testemonial from Joe Graf who competed with his daughter at Pocahontas State Park April 28, 2007: "We just wanted to send you a quick note letting you know how much we enjoyed the Little Big Adventure Race last Saturday. My daughter, Katia, had been asking all winter to do a race with me and yours really fit the bill. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. My wife, my daughter and I all had a fantastic time and we will certainly be back again next year. In fact, Katia and I have already been revising our strategy and next year we plan to bring home a medal!!
For much of my child and adulthood, I was overweight. I always had a love of sports, but could never seem to get my act together. However, when Katia came along during this time of obesity in America reaching epidemic proportions, something really changed in me. I didn't want to pass my own bad habits on to my daughter. I don't want her to struggle with her fitness the way I always did. To top it off, at the tender age of 7, she is already a more gifted athlete than I ever was or ever could be (a 15.51 mile and a half at age 7, you've got to be kidding me!!). So I found the incentive that I never had before and today I am an actively training triathlete. I've lost and kept off over sixty pounds.
I tell you that so that I can tell you this. As a triathlete, I want to pay you compliments on the organization, professionalism and polish your event displayed. I've seen USAT sanctioned events that were not as well put together. As a parent, I want to tell you that the service that Running Kids is providing to parents is invaluable beyond measure. In my opinion, there is no better way for a child to learn than to get out and do something alongside a parent. The process of preparing for this event, training, strategizing and actively working as a team to achieve our goal has been something that Katia and I will never forget. At age 7, she already understands things about her health and fitness that it took me 35 years to learn. There is no price that can be put on that.
So, thank you for all of your hard work, as well as that of all the staff and volunteers, and keep on doing what you are doing. Your work serves to make lives better. There is nothing more noble than that."
Thanks Joe & congratulations to you!!
